If you are prone to
problems with this nasty pest a recent visit with a Lansing Dentist may give
you some relief. Dr. North told one of our retirees that all of the
toothpastes today have a chemical ingredient called “Sodium Lauryl Sulfate”
which encourages and aggravates people who are having a reoccurring canker
sore problem.
Not much is known about
the cause of canker sores. It has been shown however that people with
allergies to food, food dyes, and food preservatives seem more prone to
canker sores. Food culprits include chocolate, cow’s milk, gluten,
buckwheat, whole wheat, figs, cheese, apples, and vinegar. Stress may also
be an instigator.
